The Blue Ridge Scenic Railway runs its most popular trips in fall, tracing the Toccoa River to McCaysville and back beneath a canopy of color. Book foliage-season seats early — they sell out.

Apple season at Mercier Orchards

Mercier Orchards is peak-season magic in fall: u-pick apples, fresh cider and cider donuts, fried pies, and a busy farm market. Go on a weekday morning to beat the crowds.
